GENERAL DENTISTRY

Scaling & Polishing

Even with regular brushing and flossing, it is difficult to remove all plaque and tartar from your teeth. Scaling & Polishing help eliminate these harmful deposits, protecting your teeth and gums from potential damage. We recommend making an appointment to see your dentist at least twice a year. Your dentist will also advise you on how to look after your teeth with a good daily oral health routine.

Dental Care for Children

We welcome children of all ages and strive to ensure they have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We recommend bringing your child to the dentist from 12 to 18 months old. Good dental care for children includes regular check-ups every six months to reduce anxiety and tooth decay risk. Early detection of decay can prevent future dental issues.

Tooth coloured fillings

Teeth damaged with decay or trauma can be restored with tooth coloured fillings as long as the inner nerve of the tooth is intact and healthy. Dental composites are the material of choice when restoring decayed teeth as they blend beautifully with your natural teeth.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is required when the tooth decay has reached the inner portion of the tooth or there has been an injury to the tooth. A root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia and the infected nerve is removed from the tooth. The canals are carefully cleaned, shaped and disinfected. Finally the tooth is filled with a tooth coloured filling and a dental crown.

Tooth Extraction

Dental extractions are performed when the tooth has advanced caries or broken down to an extent that it cannot be saved by performing RCT. Extraction is performed under local anesthesia. If the tooth is visible in the oral cavity it is displaced and extracted from its socket. For teeth which are below gum level or those having advanced caries may require a minor incision in the gums for extraction. After that a suture is placed to reposition the gums.

Preventive Dentistry

Preventive dentistry focuses on maintaining oral health to prevent dental problems before they occur. For children, this involves regular dental check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and the application of dental sealants to protect against cavities. For adults, preventive care includes routine dental exams, professional cleanings, and maintaining good oral hygiene practices at home. Both groups benefit from a balanced diet, limiting sugary foods and drinks, and avoiding tobacco use.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays are custom made inserts that fit in the center of the tooth while onlay is a specifically constructed form applied to the outer surface of a damaged or fractured tooth. They don’t cover a tooth entirely so relatively less cutting of natural tooth structure is required. At least two visits are required for this procedure.

Dentures

Dentures can replace few or the entire arch of teeth making them a reliable replacement when fixed teeth are not possible. Commonly known as false teeth, they sit comfortably on your gums replacing your missing teeth. Dentures also provide support to facial tissues such as lips and cheeks and prevents sagging of these tissues. The entire process of fabricating a Denture can require several appointments to ensure the final dentures are comfortable. Your dentures will last longer if you take care of them. Dentures should be removed before going to bed and stored in water.

Crowns

A Crown covers a tooth entirely that has been broken or damaged to an extent that a dental filling alone is not sufficient to restore its function and esthetics. They are made to look like natural teeth that restores the tooth without compromising your smile and function. Crowns are also used if the tooth has been broken down or damaged due to decay or trauma and usually after a Root Canal treatment A crown is also used on top of a dental implant to restore a missing tooth.

Dental Trauma

Dental trauma can happen unexpectedly due to accidents or injuries. And can damage your tooth’s inner pulp and surrounding structures.
Symptoms of Dental Trauma include:

1. Prolonged Sensitivity
2. Tooth Discolouration
3. Pain or swelling

The Emergency Care process after a dental trauma is Immediate Evaluation and Diagnosis followed by prompt treatment to alleviate your pain and to prevent further complications. After the procedure our team will guide you on post procedure instructions and we will do regular follow up to ensure your recovery.

Bridges

When you are missing one or more teeth, a dental bridge can restore your smile, function and confidence. A bridge can be a suitable treatment option if dental implant is not possible and there are healthy natural teeth present on either side of the gap left by missing teeth. With a bridge placed in your mouth you can eat and speak normally. Treatment with dental bridge takes a minimum of 2 appointments. Dental bridges generally last a long time with good care and hygiene.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Composite Bonding

The quickest way to improve shape, size and color of your tooth is by Composite Bonding. It is done without the use of any injections and absolutely no or very minor drilling of your tooth is required. It usually can be done in a single appointment. The procedure usually involves 2 hours. It’s important to have healthy gums to be eligible for this procedure. A favorable bite is also required for this procedure to ensure the composite bonding doesn’t chip or break. After 3-5 years of this treatment, repair and refinement of composite bonding is usually required.

Clear Aligners to Straighten Teeth

Aligners are removable clear trays which when worn, enable teeth to be straightened efficiently and discreetly with minimal visits to dentists. They can close gaps, fix crooked, overlapping teeth. As they are nearly invisible so they are not noticeable in social settings. It’s very convenient to maintain your oral hygiene while getting these types of braces because you can remove them while brushing your teeth. Treatment time for every patient varies and it depends on the complexity of the tooth movement required. The average treatment time ranges from 6 months till 24 months.

Veneers

Dental veneers are thin porcelain shells attached to the front of teeth. Custom-made to fit over existing teeth, they cover imperfections and discolorations for a natural appearance. Veneers provide a quick, effective, and durable cosmetic solution for a bright smile. They can Improve color of stained or discolored teeth, Close gaps between teeth and Repair minor chips or cracks or unevenness of teeth.

Teeth Whitening

Natural teeth accumulate stains and become darker with age. Dietary and lifestyle choices such as drinking tea coffee, and smoking can discolor dentition. Teeth whitening can quickly and affordably rejuvenate and brighten your smile. Teeth whitening is done by applying a safe bleaching gel on the front surfaces of your teeth. This gel makes your teeth at least 2-4 shades lighter. It’s an hour long appointment and it’s important to have healthy gums before you get this procedure done.

Smile Makeovers

A smile makeover is a customized dental plan to improve your teeth's appearance and health. A smile makeover may include various treatments recommended by your dentist:

Veneers – cover cracks and discoloration.
Crowns – restore damaged teeth.
White fillings – replace grey fillings with natural looking ones
Bridges – replace missing teeth.
Teeth whitening – brighten your smile.
Re-shaping – correct irregularities and chips.
Cosmetic bonding – enhance front teeth.

Teeth Straightening

Orthodontic treatment involves moving teeth into a position that is better for appearance and function. Orthodontic treatment can close gaps and fix overlapping and crowded teeth to make them straighter. Orthodontic treatment can take anywhere between 6 -36 months to complete depending on the severity of the tooth movement required. Teeth straightening can be achieved by fixed braces which involves metal brackets that fit onto the teeth with wires placed through. The wires are tightened during the treatment, encouraging the teeth to move. Clear aligners are the alternative to metal braces for patients who want to straighten their teeth but don’t want to have fixed, noticeable braces. Clear aligners are removable and require lesser dental visits.
