What is Full Mouth Rehabilitation with Dental Implants?

Full mouth rehabilitation is a dental treatment aimed at restoring all your teeth in the oral cavity. The treatment is for patients who have multiple or all missing, damaged or broken teeth due to decay or trauma. Dental reconstruction relies on dental implants as they are surgically placed in the jawbone that provide a solid base for fixed bridges.

Advantages of Full Mouth Rehabilitation with Dental Implants

Dental implants are cornerstone of full mouth rehabilitation due to their numerous benefits

Unlike traditional dentures, dental implants provide a long term solution that closely mimics function and appearance of natural teeth. It offers stability, and hence one can easily eat, speak, and smile. Replacing missing teeth with implants also reduces the risk of getting gum diseases around your natural teeth. The stable foundation that these implant provide also reduces the drifting of natural teeth into gaps which can result in crooked teeth.

Most noticeable advantage of full mouth rehabilitation with dental implants is on facial appearance and confidence. The bridges are made to look and feel like natural teeth which provides an aesthetically pleasing smile. This transformation also has profound impact on your confidence and social interaction. A full set of teeth also prevents sunken appearance of facial tissues giving you a more youthful appearance

Perhaps one of the greatest advantage associated with implants is that they prevent loss of jaw bone and maintain its integrity. Just like the natural tooth root, an implant stimulates the jawbone to maintain its volume by transmitting the forces from your jaw muscles to underlying bone.

Full mouth rehabilitation with dental implants offers a durable solution for individuals struggling with loss dentition and conventional dentures. Unlike conventional dentures that may need frequent adjustments or replacements, dental implants provide long term solution

How it's done

As earlier stated, full mouth rehabilitation processes are methodical and always tailor-made. Here is what you can expect from the process.

This journey initiates with an extended consultation with our dental team, where we will review your oral health, talk about your goals, and whether you are a perfect candidate for implants. It may also include a series of diagnostic tests such as X-rays and 3-D imaging that will help us in formulating your individual treatment plan.

The procedure involves surgically placing a titanium implant in the jawbone first. The entire process will be conducted under local anesthesia for your maximum comfort. Over the next three months implant will heal with the bone by a process called Osseointegration.

At the end of the healing phase implant uncovering and attachment of a connector (abutment ) is done. To this abutment, custom-made bridge will be attached

Impressions are then taken and sent to a dental laboratory for construction of a custom made bridge. The entire process may also require additional appointments for adjustment of the bridge

Regular follow-up visits after the procedure are mandatory to check on the health of implants and all surrounding tissues. We will be happy to provide you with details on how you should take care of your implants and maintain good oral hygiene
